Recommended Fantasy Football Week 16 Waiver Wire Pickups
There’s a good chance that anyone who is reading this piece is in the middle of an intense fantasy football playoff run. There’s also the possibility that managers want to boost their roster in order to finish the season strong in the consolation bracket. Regardless of the motivation, there are moves to be made to help your fantasy team finish the campaign with a bang.
As the Commanders play out the rest of their games, they may not have a lot of motivation to rush starting running back Brian Robinson back from injury. He wasn’t ready to go after the team’s bye, and Rodriguez received 10 carries. Antonio Gibson might gobble up more targets, but Rodriguez appears to be the preferred first and second down option.
Many people forgot that Waller was floating around on the waiver wire after missing several games with a hamstring injury. He returned to New York’s lineup in Week 15, and had a decent connection with Tommy DeVito. Waller’s risk for an in-game setback always leaves fantasy managers nervous, but he might be the most talented pickup a team can make at this point of the year.

The Packers’ skill position players have been in and out of the lineup in 2023. It wouldn’t be surprising to see Christian Watson miss another game with a hamstring injury, and fellow pass catcher Jayden Reed left Week 14’s contest as well. Wicks stepped up in their place, catching six passes for 97 yards.
The key to Houston’s fantasy fortunes lays in the hands of quarterback C.J. Stroud, who missed Sunday’s game with a concussion. His status is worth monitoring, as is the calf injury being nursed by Nico Collins. If Stroud returns and Collins does not ahead of Week 16, Woods wouldn’t be a bad dart throw. He’s a healthy body in a receiving corps that is awfully banged up.
It’ll be interesting to see how aggressive fantasy managers are with claiming Sermon and Goodson, but there’s a great chance either could be a savior at the most crucial time. Zach Moss suffered his second arm injury of the year on Saturday, and Jonathan Taylor may not be back in time for Week 16. Sermon may have a slight leg up, as he handled 17 carries in Week 15.
It was a long night for the Broncos’ defense in Week 15, as they conceded five touchdown passes through the air against the Detroit Lions. It’s pretty safe to say that they should fare much better against the New England Patriots in Week 16, who do not have the same level of skill position players.
Chances are if your fantasy team has made it this far, quarterback may not be a position of need. However, some managers are piecing it together there, and Flacco may not be a bad pickup this week. He’s shown that he still has an NFL caliber arm, and the Browns aren’t afraid to let him rip it down the field.
It’s been mostly a lost year for Burks, who has been saddled with injuries in 2023. While the Titans are eliminated from postseason contention, the last few weeks are important for a player who was once viewed as a cornerstone piece of the future. Burks caught three passes for 62 yards against the Houston Texans on Sunday.
