Recommended Fantasy Football Week 9 Waiver Wire Pickups
For NFL teams and fantasy owners, we are reaching the key part of the 2023 season. With records at this point meaning little come season end. With that being said, it’s now time to pick up these players if you can and go on a run to end the year.
Josh Dobbs is out of Arizona after playing very well in Drew Petzing’s offense, if Murray is available in your league, pick him up now. Murray is a far superior player to Dobbs and could be a difference-maker down the stretch.
Unfortunately, Howell doesn’t play the Eagles every week, if he did he’d be an MVP candidate, but the ex-Tarheel is playing well. The Commanders face a depleted but still talented Patriots team but follow that up with games against Seattle and the Giants, both opportunities for big points.
The Giants face the Raiders in week nine, which looks like a good stream anyway, but with Josh McDaniels and the coaching staff fired, who knows what sort of nonsense Las Vegas will put out there on Sunday? This is also a defense coming into its own as the season progresses.
Dobbs may well not be available in your league, but if he is grab him now. He’s played well in a Cardinals offense lacking stars, now he’s set to start for the Vikings in an offense including Jordan Addison, T.J. Hockenson, and Justin Jefferson, who’s set to return soon. Pick points could be coming.
If you’re desperate, a Sam Howell Jahan Dotson stack could be a bold approach to week nine. It could also be a winning formula after the Washington wideout went for 108 yards and a score on eight catches last week. That’s some serious fantasy points.
Has there ever been a more frustrating player to match up against than Hill? Some weeks he doesn’t see the field, others he’s running in multiple scores. Well, he’s currently only rostered by 11% of teams, so grab him now and avoid having to play against him.
Admittedly, it’s taken numerous injuries for the Chargers’ first-round pick to look like a featured weapon in their offense, but we’re not in the business of draft grades right now, this is all about fantasy. Johnson offers big play ability and could become a reliable target for Justin Herbert, and quickly.
Hubbard could well have been stashed in your league earlier in the season, but if he’s not, now is the time to grab him. It’s become very obvious he’s the number one back in Carolina, despite giving Miles Sanders a big contract in the offseason.
