Celtic hero Ange Postecoglou has been appointed as the new manager of Tottenham Hotspur on a four-year deal.

First Aussie

Postecoglou will become the first Australian coach to manage in the Premier League when his deal starts on the 1st of July, 2023.

'Strong track record'

According to skysports.com, Daniel Levy said: "He has a strong track record of developing players and an understanding of the importance of the link from the academy – everything that is important to our club."

Fourth in a year

The Australian manager is the fourth manager in a turbulent year for Tottenham, succeeding Antonio Conte, Cristian Stellini, and Ryan Mason.

'I wanted to explore'

In his statement, Postecoglou said: "They wanted me to extend my time at Celtic, and while I am so respectful and understanding of their position, a new opportunity has been presented to me, and it's one which I wanted to explore."

Trophy minded

Tottenham has been without a major trophy since the League Cup success in 2008, and with the Aussies' track record at Celtic, will he become the first manager to bring success to Spurs in 15 years?

Spell at Celtic

Here's a look at his time with the Scottish champions!

Appointment

Postecoglou became the manager of Celtic on the 10th of June 2021, signing a 12-month rolling contract, with the expectation of winning the league after Rangers had won it a year before.

He was mocked

The appointment was mocked by pundits and Celtic fans after they narrowly missed out on current Newcastle manager Eddie Howe.

Winning the league

In his first season as boss, Celtic overtook Rangers in the league following a 3-0 victory over their rivals in February. Celtic didn't let their lead slip, winning the title with a game left in May.

Cup and personal achievement

As well as the league title, Celtic won the Scottish League Cup, beating Hibernian 2-1 in the final. Postecoglou became the first Australian manager to win a league title in Europe.

Treble winners

In Ange's last season in charge of Celtic, he led them to the club's eighth domestic treble, winning the Scottish Premiership, Scottish League Cup, and Scottish Cup.

Trophies

Out of the six available domestic trophies, Postecoglou won five of them, asserting his dominance over Rangers, who looked to have turned a corner under the progression of Steven Gerrard.

Style of play

The Australian manager prides himself on attacking football and building a team that fans can talk and get excited about.

Record

His attacking style of play showed on the pitch for Celtic last season, scoring a Celtic post-war record of 114 goals this past campaign.

Tottenham

With the attacking players at his disposal when he joins Tottenham, Spurs will hope Ange can create a philosophy that gets Tottenham challenging for trophies again.
