The controversial love triangle that is shaking up the Bundesliga

Roman Weidenfeller, (born in 1980) was a Borussia Dortmund goalkeeper for 16 years and 453 games, as well as being part of the 2014 World Cup-winning German team.

Retired in 2018, the goalkeeper had always been remembered for his performances on the field, until now, when he was involved in a scandalous love triangle involving his ex-partner and a former teammate.

Roman Weidenfeller and Lisa Rossenbach were, for more than a decade, one of the most famous, beautiful, and viral couples in the Bundesliga.

They began dating in 2010, married in 2015 and a year later their first child was born. In mid-2023, the couple had Luna, their second daughter.

However, at the end of 2023, the former goalkeeper announced on social networks that they were no longer a couple. "We have separated amicably," making it clear that "our two children come first".

After the couple separated, Lisa Rossenbach would rebuild her life alongside another man. She began a relationship with Arne Maier, Augsburg's midfielder.

Everything appeared to be normal... Until the German newspaper 'Bild' and local magazine 'Bunte' dropped some serious allegations, claiming the breakup of Roman Weidenfeller and Lisa Rossenbach was linked to Arne Maier.

The two media outlets have analyzed the tumultuous love triangle that is shaking up Germany, and also speculate that Arne Maier was secretly texting Lisa Rossenbach whenever he scored a goal.

Obviously, that is something that the midfielder can do on the pitch, while Roman Weidenfeller, being a goalkeeper, did not even consider it... He was at a slight disadvantage.

The controversy is served although, as Roman Weidenfeller said previously, their main priority is their children's comfort.
