As women's football grows so does the profile of women's football stars, and clubs are willing to spend more money to secure top talents. There is yet to be a €1 million (£850,000, $1.1m US )signing in women's football, but this landmark moment is creeping closer and closer every season.

The biggest transfer so far has been Keira Walsh's move to Barcelona, which cost the Spanish club around €467,000 (£398,000, $506,000)

FC Barcelona

FC Barcelona Femeni is arguably the most valuable football squad, given Barcelona's dominance in European women's football. The Spanish team has increased their trophy collection over the last five years, winning big titles like the Women's Champions League, La Liga F, and the Spanish Supercup.

Their squad is filled with top-class stars like Alexia Putellas, Aitana Bonmati, and Caroline Graham. According to Onefootball, their squad value is around  €5.45m (£4.65m, $5.91m)

Arsenal

According to Soccerdonna, Arsenal is currently the most valuable English women's football squad. The club has invested large sums of money into improving the squad, and so far they have won one Continental Cup in 2022/23. Vivianne Miedema and Beth Mead are the squad's highest-valued players. Their squad is estimated to be worth around €3.98m (£3.23m, $4.11m)

Lyon

One of Europe's female football pioneers is often regarded as the strongest and most valuable female squad. Lyon was the very first to form a women's football team linked with the parent club, in Europe. The French club invested heavily in their female team and earned a total of 8 Champions Leagues and 14 domestic cups in the last decade. Their squad value is estimated to be around €3.77m (£3.22m, $4.09m)

Chelsea

The German team has improved the overall quality of their female squad but still lacks some final touches. Bayern Munich has attracted some of the world's most interesting talents, like Georgia Stanway and Pernille Harder.
