Chuck Nevitt (7ft5)

Selected in the third round of the 1982 draft, 7ft5 Chuck Nevitt spent nine seasons in the NBA and played 155 games, according to The Sportster,

Tallest to win a chip

Although his NBA career wasn't a showstopping one, averaging 1.6 points per game, Nevitt is the tallest player to win an NBA Championship, securing one with the Los Angeles Lakers in 1985.

Shawn Bradley (7ft6)

Shawn Bradley was selected second overall in the 1993 draft after a dominant spell at college. He made his presence known at the rim, averaging 3.4 blocks in his first five seasons, according to stat site Basketball Reference.

Cycling accident

Bradley played 882 games in his NBA career and completed his final eight seasons with the Dallas Mavericks. In 2021, Bradley was involved in a cycling accident that left him paralyzed, as covered by Sports Illustrated.

Yao Ming (7ft6)

7ft6 Yao Ming was a dominant force in the NBA for his short career in the league, earning eight straight all-star selections and creating notorious battles with NBA legend Shaquille O'Neal.

Hall of Fame

Ming was inducted into the Naismith's Basketball Hall of Fame in 2016 after averaging 19 points, 9.2 rebounds, and 1.9 blocks in his illustrious career with the Houston Rockets, as reported by Basketball Reference.

Gheorghe Muresan (7ft7)

Before being selected in the 1993 NBA Draft, Muresan had successful spells in France and Romania, becoming a Romanian National Champion and winning the French League Cup, according to Sport Casting.

Most Improved Player

Despite injuries derailing his career, Muresan had an elite spell in the 1995-1996 season, winning the NBAs Most Improved Player award, averaging 15 points and ten rebounds.

Manute Bol (7ft7)

Manute Bol is the joint tallest player with Gheorghe Muresan in NBA history and took a unique journey to the league, coming from Sudan and then playing NCAA Division 2 basketball.

Blocks

Bol was named to the All-Defensive team in the 1986 season and ranks second all-time in the blocks per game average (3.34 blocks per game), according to Basketball Reference. He sadly passed away in 2010, but his legacy lives on with his son Bol Bol, who plays in the NBA today.
