The NBA single-game record for points has not been broken in over 60 years, and no player has come close to breaking it.

On eight different occasions in NBA history, a player has scored more than 71 points in a game, according to nba.com.

As well as Donovan Mitchell and Damian Lillard, Los Angeles Lakers legend Elgin Baylor and San Antonio Spurs hero David Robinson have scored 71 points in a single game, as reported by the NBA.

Wilt Chamberlain's name is something you will have to get used to on this list, scoring 70 or more on six occasions in his NBA career.

According to Bleacher Report, in a 115-127 loss to the Los Angeles Lakers, Wilt Chamberlain scored 72 points for the San Fransisco Warriors, finishing 29 of 48 from the field and 14 of 18 from the charity stripe.

As a report by sportingnews.com, Basketball Hall of Famer and former first overall pick David Thompson scored a career-high 73 points for the Denver Nuggets in a loss against the Detroit Pistons in April 1978.

Thompson scored 73 points on the final day of the regular season to win the NBA scoring title, which he lost by percentage points to San Antonio's George Gervin.

Luka Doncic joined David Thompson in the 73-points club On January 26, 20214 against the Atlanta Hawks, dropping 73 points, ten rebounds, and seven assists in a 148-143 victory.

According to nba.com, Doncic has averaged 34.7 points, 8.6 rebounds, and 9.6 assists so far this season and saved his highest points total of his career for Kobe Bryant, scoring 73 on the fourth anniversary of his passing.

In the space of ten months, Wilt Chamberlain dropped 73 points on two occasions. The first was in January 1962 for the Philadelphia Warriors in a win over the Chicago Packers, and the second was in November 1962 against The Knicks, according to nba.com.

In both games, Chamberlain played 48 minutes, made 29 field goals, and successfully made 15 free throw attempts.

On two occasions, Wilt Chamberlain scored over 70 points against the Los Angeles Lakers. The first time was in December 1961, finishing on 78 points in a 147-151 loss.

As well as 78 points, the NBA legend secured 43 rebounds in 63 minutes. The center made 31 field goals and 16 free throws out of 31 attempts.

Former Los Angeles Lakers star Kobe Bryant scored 81 points in a comeback victory over the Toronto Raptors in January 2006.

Bryant scored 55 of his 81 in the first half and helped The Lakers turn an 18-point deficit into an 18-point victory. The Laker legend finished 28 of 46 from the field and made 18 of 20 free throws, according to sportskeeda.com.

According to the NBA, in March 1962, Wilt Chamberlain set his unbreakable record, scoring 100 points as a member of the Philadelphia Warriors in a 169-147 win over the New York Knicks.

Chamberlain went 36 for 63 from the field and 28 from 32 at the free throw line, reaching a century of points in the final minute of the game.
