Saying goodbye is never easy, and yesterday was one of those days for Tom Brady fans around the world. The seven-time Super Bowl winner has announced his terirement from the NFL.

At age 45, Tom Brady has decided to cash out, after a relatively successful play-off year with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. His last game ended in a 14 - 31 defeat against the Dallas Cowboys.

After completing four years at the University of Michigan, Tom Brady entered the NFL draft with some big names ahead of him.

The underdog

Brady faced hot young prospects like Carmazzi, Chris Redman, Tee Martin, Marc Bulger, and many more. In fact, he was so far down the list of potential prospects he ended up being number 199 in the global draft pick.

 

Growing up as a Niner

Tom Brady had his hopes placed on the San Francisco 49ers, the team he grew up supporting as a kid. He was a big fan of Joe Montana. Nevertheless, the Niners ended up choosing Carmazzi instead of him.

Drafted by the New England Patriots

He was drafted by the New England Patriots in the sixth round. Brady told Robert Kraft, owner of the franchise, he was the "best decision this franchise has ever made”.

 

Drew Bledsoe starting 'QB' for the Patriots

When Brady joined the Patriots, Drew Bledsoe was the starting quarterback of the team. After falling injured in a game, Brady became the starting quarterback for the Patriots. He took them to the playoffs that year with 11 victories out of 13 games.

MVP at the Super Bowl XXXVI

Tom Brady had an amazing performance at Super Bowl XXXVI, showing an exhibition of great playmaking and strategic time management. The Patriots won the Super Bowl and Brady was named MVP of the game.

 

Another Super Bowl

Tom Brady achieved his second title in 2003, at Super Bowl XXXVIII. The Patriots were victorious 32-29 against the Panthers. A total of 354 yards, 3 TD, and 1 INT, with a 100.5 rating. A very impressive performance to wrap up the season.

Another one for the record books

Another brilliant season in 2004 took the Patriots to the Super Bowl XXXIX and won 24-21 against the Philadelphia Eagles. Brady did 236 yards and two TD passes.
