Speed skating star

Jutta Leerdam is a Dutch and international speed skater who also causes sensation off the ice and made a name for herself on social media. Discover the career and life of one of the world's biggest winter sports stars.

Born in 1998

Leerdam was born on 30 December 1998 in the Dutch town of 's-Gravenzande.

Junior World Champion

She enjoyed early success in her skating career. In 2017, she won the all-round world title at the World Junior Championships.

Dutch sprint championships

After that, Leerdam failed to qualify for the 2018 Winter Olympics, but she did go on to become Dutch sprint champion.

World champion

In 2019, she took her first ever world title in the women's team sprint. The following year, she added two more world titles to her tally in Salt Lake City.

Koen Verweij

At the time, Leerdam was in a relationship with former Dutch speed skater Koen Verweij.

Team Worldstream

Together, they founded their own speed skating team: Team Worldstream.

Break-up

In August 2022, however, Leerdam announced on Instagram that she and Verweij had broken up.

Jumbo-Visma

Earlier that year, Leerdam had left Team Worldstream to join Jumbo-Visma, leading to the former team's dissolution.

More silverware

However, Leerdam continued to do what she was good at: skating. In 2022, before her break-up, she had already won an Olympic silver medal in Beijing and two world titles in Hamar, adding another in Heerenveen in 2023, in front of her home crowd.

Jake Paul

In April 2023, Leerdam revealed that he was in a relationship with YouTuber and professional boxer Jake Paul (pictured).

Instagram

Away from the ice, Leerdam has built an impressive career on Instagram, where she regularly posts a picture with Paul.
