Are you ready for NFL football?

Yeah, us too, but we’re going to have to wait until September. Until then, we’ll be circling our calendars to ensure we have every Thursday, Sunday, and Monday free. Without further ado, let’s take a look at the games we’re most excited for in the 2024 NFL schedule.

Week 1, Packers @ Eagles (in São Paulo, Brazil)

This will be the first NFL game ever played in Brazil, and they have chosen two teams with very real shots to make the Super Bowl from the NFC. Jordan Love vs Jalen Hurts is a mouth-watering matchup, just be careful wearing green around São Paulo, the soccer rivalries run deep…

Week 1, Ravens @ Chiefs

The NFL is putting on a smorgasbord of elite matchups to kick off the 2024 NFL season. A repeat of the AFC Championship game in week one? Roger Goodell, you are spoiling us. As Yahoo Sports describes it, the Ravens are the Chiefs’ “most compelling opponent possible”.

Week 1, Jets @ 49ers

Is this the greatest week one slate of all time? Possibly. The storylines here are endless with the Niners looking to avenge another Super Bowl loss, Aaron Rodgers’ Achilles (will it last longer than four snaps?), Rodgers returning to California after the Niners chose not to draft him, etc, etc.

Week 5, Bills @ Texans

Stefon Diggs will get an early chance at revenge against his former employers as his Texans team will host the Bills in week five. Yahoo Sports describes this matchup well, calling it a “fascinating matchup between two fun and talented teams”. We love watching both Stroud and Allen play, as should every football fan.

Week 1, Bears @ Titans

Of all the games on this list, this could be the least consequential come playoff time, but boy, are we excited to watch Caleb Williams in the NFL. Will a one-game sample size be large enough for fans to base their opinions on? No, of course not, but they will anyway, which makes this a tantalizing prospect.

Week 12, Ravens @ Chargers

The first HarBowl of Jim’s second NFL stint could go a long way to deciding playoff seeding come week 18. The Chargers could turn things around quickly with their new coaching staff but John and his Ravens team would love nothing better than to show up his younger brother on his home field.

Week 16, Dolphins @ Niners

The master (Kyle Shanahan) welcomes the apprentice (Mike McDaniel) in a game with potentially huge playoff implications. This could be the Dolphins’ last ride with their current core, making this game a possible make-or-break scenario.

Week 14, Falcons @ Vikings

As The Washington Post points out, “The NFL is reviewing the Falcons’ dealings with Cousins,” with regards to tampering allegations. This adds an undercurrent of intrigue to a game that may not matter too much in the playoff race, but will allow us to study Kirk Cousins’ body language in great detail… and we’ll get to see his rookie replacement J.J. McCarthy too…

Week 5, Cowboys @ Lions

The spenders (Lions) host the penny-pinchers (Cowboys) in an early showdown between two legit NFC contenders. Can Jared Goff continue his excellent play? Can Dak finally lead the Cowboys out of the second round? We won’t necessarily know following week five, but we will enjoy making our minds up based on this one result!
