Recommended Fantasy Football Week 12 Waiver Wire Pickups
This is a busy week for many fans on the NFL, who are getting their Thanksgiving plans in order. While the guest list and menu is being finalized for the big day, we’ve also got you covered when it comes to stuffing out your roster with solid players heading into Week 12’s contests. It’s important to knock this out since games begin earlier because of the holiday.
The Mark Andrews injury was a devastating turn of events for the Ravens and quarterback Lamar Jackson. However, this opens the door for Likely to assume a large snap share and show what he can do on one of the league’s best offenses. Likely is a supremely gifted athlete, and might fill some of the void in the red zone left by Andrews’ absence.
After Seattle’s Week 11 game against the Los Angeles Rams, head coach Pete Carroll called starting running back Kenneth Walker’s oblique injury “legitimate”. Regardless of how one reads into that, it appears unlikely that he’ll be ready to go on Thursday night against San Francisco. If Charbonnet(who was already eating into Walker’s playing time) is available, snatch him up.
It’s remarkable how the perception of Denver’s defense has rebuilt itself over the last few weeks. After being lambasted for 70 points against the Miami Dolphins in Week 3, the Broncos have pulled it together. They host the Cleveland Browns on Sunday in an attractive spot for their defense. They’ll either face rookie quarterback Dorian Thompson-Robinson or grizzled veteran Joe Flacco.
The eye test did not yield favorable memories for Tennessee fans on Sunday, as they gave up a few big plays against the Jacksonville Jaguars. However, their opponent in Week 12 is much easier on paper, making their defense a good streaming candidate. The Carolina Panthers have been putrid on offense all season, and the pressure on head coach Frank Reich is reportedly increasing.
There aren’t many offenses that support multiple pass catchers in fantasy football, but the Texans’ attack is surprisingly one of them. Noah Brown went off in Woods’ absence in recent weeks, but Brown is out with a knee injury of his own. In his return to the lineup, Woods caught five passes for 44 yards on eight targets.
The long-awaited return of electric rookie runner De’Von Achane was cut short for the Dolphins, as he left Week 11’s game early with a knee injury. He just came off injured reserve with a knee injury, which might lead Miami to play things safe with him on a short week. Savon Ahmed also got banged up in this one, so don’t be surprised if Wilson is back in the mix for carries next week.
It’s unclear what has happened to Stefon Diggs’ sizeable target share, or the looks that Gabe Davis use to get in Buffalo’s offense. Regardless of why or how, quarterback Josh Allen seems to have locked in more on Shakir in recent weeks. The receiver had a winding run after the catch against the New York Jets that ended up in the endzone.
This piece doesn’t usually highlight potential kicking options for fantasy football, but we are obliged to mention Myers’ recent hot streak. Seattle’s kicker drilled two field goals from over 50 yards on Sunday, which sometimes garner bonus points in fantasy. He also connected on four field goals of over 40 yards two weeks ago, so Seattle is not afraid to trot him out there.
