Sibling rivalry on the big stage: Behind the Kelce brothers history making Super Bowl
Super Bowl 2023 came to a dramatic close on Sunday after the Kansas City Chiefs defeated the Philadelphia Eagles 38-35 in the game.
The game had many amazing storylines heading into the matchup. None more so than Travis and Jason Kelce becoming the first brothers to play against each other in a Super Bowl battle.
Travis Kelce's opening Chiefs touchdown was the catalyst in sparking the teams' victory, inflicting misery on brother Jason and the Philadelphia Eagles.
According to people.com, Travis Kelce said, "There's nothing I can say to him other than I love him, and he played a hell of a year, a hell of a season."
There are exactly 23 months between Jason and Travis Kelce, with Jason born on November 5, 1987, and younger brother Travis, born on October 5, 1989.

The pair grew up in Cleveland Heights, Ohio, where father Ed worked in steel and mother Donna worked in banking.
The close age gap between the brothers, sparked a competitive drive between the pair of them, which unknowingly would help them in their later careers.

According to people.com, their mother, Donna said, "It's a lot of broken windows, a lot of, you know, crashes, a lot of fighting and Travis was always the one that was the instigator because he wanted his brother's attention."
The pair played multiple sports at high school – They both played football and baseball, and Jason played hockey in winter, whilst Travis played basketball.

Being two years older, Jason was the first to go to college, attending the University of Cincinnati on a football scholarship as a linebacker.
Despite having multiple Division One scholarship offers in football, Travis decided to follow his brother, joining the University of Cincinnati's football program.
In an interview with NFL Films, Travis said, "being on his team, knowing that he's already going through this system — it just made the most sense."
Travis Kelce's college career was almost cut short in 2009, failing a drug test and being kicked off the team. Luckily for him, older brother Jason stepped in and got him back on the team.

According to Sports Illustrated, Travis Kelce said, "I've never really asked how he got me back on the team, that was my brother just being a big brother, looking out for me every step of the way."
Since graduating from the University of Cincinnati in 2011, Jason Kelce has played his whole career with the Philadelphia Eagles.
In 12 seasons, Jason has made five Pro Bowls, was named first-team All-Pro four times and was part of the first-ever Philadelphia Eagles team to win a Superbowl in 2018.
Similar to his brother Jason, Travis Kelce has also been a one-team man, playing for the Kansas City Chiefs his whole NFL career since being drafted in the 2013 NFL draft.
In ten seasons with The Chiefs, Travis has had eight Pro Bowl selections, been to the Superbowl three times (winning twice), and holds the NFL record for the most consecutive seasons (7) with 1,000 receiving yards by a tight end.
Since September 2022, the pair have hosted their own podcast called 'New Heights' on YouTube, Apple, and Spotify. The podcast has moved into the top five podcasts in America.
