Austria's Ivona Dadic is a seasoned veteran in the heptathlon event at the Olympics, having competed in the previous three Games.

Heptathlon

According to the Olympics website, the heptathlon comprises seven events competed over two days. The events are the 100m hurdles, high jump, shot put, 200m sprint, long jump, javelin, and 800m run.

Best Olympic finish

In the three Olympics she has competed in, Dadic's best finish was eighth at the Tokyo Olympics in 2021, scoring 6403 points across the seven events.

2024 Olympics

Dadic's personal website states that the Austrian will compete at her fourth Olympics in 2024, hoping she can better her performance from last time and potentially win a medal.

Success elsewhere

Although she has never had great success on the Olympic stage, the Austrian has pushed into the medal places in multiple European and world events.

Bronze medals

Her personal website states that the Austrian has won two bronze medals in the U23 and regular European Championships in the heptathlon event.

Silver at the world's

Dadic's best finishes in global competitions came in the 2018 World Indoor Championships, winning a silver medal in the pentathlon and doing the same at the European Indoor Championships in 2017 in Belgrade.

World record

Dadic broke the one-hour heptathlon world record in Amstetten in 2020, scoring 6235 points and tallying a world lead of 6419 points in the same year to win the Austrian Combined Events Championships in Götzis, according to the World Athletics website.

Her best heptathlon score is 6552 points, and she holds the Austrian heptathlon record, scoring 4767 points in Beograd.

Dadic was awarded Austrian Sportswoman of the Year in 2020, the Lower Austria Sportswoman of the Year in 2016, 2017, and 2020, and Austrian Athlete of the Year in 2016, 2017, 2018, 2020, and 2021.
