Will Shedeur Sanders be better than his dad Deion ‘Prime Time’ Sanders?
Colorado quarterback Shedeur Sanders has started the season off in Heisman Trophy-winning form, helping his side to a 2-0 start to the season.
In last weekend's 36-14 victory in their home opener against Nebraska, Sanders threw for 393 yards and two scores while running himself for another touchdown.
Shedeur has been the catalyst to the team's on-field success just as much as his dad, Deion, who's coaching Colorado in his first year after leaving Jackson State.
Colorado had a season to forget last year, finishing with a 1-11 record, but with Deion Sanders at the helm, their season looks to be going in a different direction already.
After a special start to the season, the question is, 'Will Shedeur Sanders be better than his NFL Hall of Fame father, Deion Sanders?'
Sanders was a four-star recruit coming out of high school and excelled at Jackson State, having 6963 passing yards and 70 touchdown passes in two seasons.
The star quarterback is 6ft2 and 215 pounds, having the body type to remain durable after hard sacks and giving a height advantage when it comes to spotting routes and coverages.
Sanders is not at the top of the NFL Draft rankings right now, but star performances against Oregon and USC will boost his draft stock up tremendously.
Highest paid NFL player and Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrows went from 'Sure, he will get drafted' to first pick in the draft. Will history repeat itself with Sanders?
Sanders does have an advantage over other potential recruits, having Deion 'Prime Time' Sanders as his father, one of the greatest NFL players of all time.
Deion is a two-time Super Bowl champion with the San Fransisco 49ers and the Dallas Cowboys, winning the NFL Defensive Player of the Year in 1994.
Sanders was voted into the NFL All-Pro team on eight occasions in the 1990s, being put in the 1990s All-Decade team as a result.
Sanders was voted into the 100th Anniversary All-Time team and is the only athlete to play in an MLB and NFL game on the same day.
Shedeur Sanders will have to have a career for the ages to be as good as his dad, but he believes his dad has inspired him to be as great as he can be.
According to people.com, Shedeur Sanders said: "He's inspired me a lot, but growing up as his son is different. Other people see my father as this great man, doing all this stuff on and off the field. I'm not really understanding the impact he had on the world."
Under the coaching and guidance of his father, Deion, Shedeur Sanders has all the tools to continue on his journey to becoming an NFL great.
