Here We Go! Fabrizio Romano's Mbappe-related Money Making Scheme
Fabrizio Romano has become the most powerful man in football transfers, but now he's trying to make serious cash off the back of his work, but how does he do it?
Romano has set up his own t-shirt brand, selling blank shirts with prints of some of his transfer news posts on X (formerly Twitter). This includes his recent confirmation of Kylian Mbappe to Real Madrid.
While Mbappe is rumoured to be taking home a €150 million (£128 million/$163 million) signing-on fee for joining Madrid, per ESPN, Romano is charging €50 (£35/$54) for one of his t-shirts!

Romano also offers more expensive packages on his site, selling a personalised video for €100 (£87/$108) in which fans can recreate his famous “Here We Go!” phrase about themselves or their friends.
Football fans are often split on Romano, with many enjoying the transfer sagas he reports on, whilst others find his cynical attempts to profit off transfer news ruins the unpredictability of the transfer market.
One question many fans have is, how does Romano know when transfers are happening? Well, according to The Sun, the Milan-based journalist has spent years building a network of sources and agents who feed him information.
T-shirts aside, how does Romano make his money? Well, according to Sport Bible, X user @MadnessFc4 discovered the Italian earns just under €80,000 (£68,000/$87,000) a month from the social network, where he has 20.7 million followers.
The Sun attempted to estimate Romano’s net worth and came to a figure of €1.84 million (£1.6 million/$2 million). Not a bad figure for a so-called tap-in merchant!
As mentioned, some football fans dislike Romano’s work, while others find him a key figure in the weird world of football transfer windows. With over two months of no club football, fans are starved of news about their favourite teams, except for when you see the now-famous “breaking news” alarm emoji from Fab.
