'Stay home!': Max Verstappen slams Red Bull after third straight loss

Failing to win

For the first time since 2021, Red Bull's Max Verstappen has failed to win a Grand Prix in three straight races after McLaren and Oscar Piastri dominated the Hungarian Grand Prix.

No podium

The best position Verstappen could have finished was third place behind the McLarens, but a crash with Lewis Hamilton towards the end of the race meant the Dutchman finished fifth.

Slamming his team

According to Sky Sports, the reigning champion slammed his Red Bull team for failing to finish on the podium and criticised the performance of the RB20 car.

“Of course, I’m not happy”

After the race, Verstappen said: "Of course, I'm not happy. On a day when we're already lacking pace compared to McLaren, you try and hope we do the right things with the strategy, which today was not the case."

“To be undercut was not ideal”

"To be undercut was not ideal but maybe you get caught out ok. We tried to go a bit longer, but my pace was not very good."

Swearing on the radio

The three-time Formula One champion was fuming at the racing incident between him and Hamilton, and he made his frustrations known for everyone at home to hear on the radio. Verstappen believes he shouldn't have to apologise for what he said on the radio.

"Stay home"

Speaking to Sky Sports F1, Verstappen said: "I don't think we need to apologise. I just think we need to do a better job. I don't know why people think you cannot be vocal on the radio. This is a sport. If some people don't like that, then stay home."

Laughing it off

Seven-time champion Lewis Hamilton laughed off the comments that suggested he caused the incident between the two titans of the sport. At the same time, Red Bull boss Christian Horner agreed that Hamilton had done nothing wrong.

"Racing incident"

GB News reports Horner said: "I would say a racing incident to be honest with you. I would be disappointed if anything was to come of that."

Still top of the standings

Despite a run of three races without a win for Verstappen, he still holds the top spot in the Drivers' Championship by 76 points. Can he get back to winning ways in Belgium?
