Tennis phenom Carlos Alcaraz sends a warning to Novak Djokovic
Spanish superstar Carlos Alcaraz reaffirmed his ambitions of one day catching Novak Djokovic's 24 Grand Slams after winning his maiden French Open on the 9th of June.
The 21-year-old defeated Alexander Zverev in a five-set thriller to win his third major in three years, becoming the fourth-youngest player to win three Grand Slam titles.
According to Tennis 365, the Spaniard is the youngest player to complete the 'Surface Slam,' having won the 2022 US Open on a hard court, winning Wimbledon in 2023 on a grass court, and securing the French Open on a clay court.

Alcaraz has repeatedly expressed his desire to catch Djokovic's all-mighty record, even though he has been at the top of the sport for three years.
According to BBC Sport, Alcaraz said: "Yes, of course. I am an ambitious guy. I know it is almost impossible to break Novak's records, but I'm playing tennis for myself, for joy, and I want to do great things. I want to be part of tennis history."
"Right now, I can't think about it. I just want to keep going and let's see how many Grand Slams I'm going to take at the end of my career. Hopefully [I will] reach the 24, but right now, I'm going to enjoy my third one, and let's see in the future."
Reaching 24 Grand Slams will be a tall order for Alcaraz and any player in the future, but the Spaniard does have a one-up on the Serbian legend.
According to the ATP tennis website, Novak Djokovic had only secured one title by the time he was 21, winning the 2008 Australian Open. The Spaniard has two more at the same age.
However, between 2011 and 2023, the Serb won an astonishing 23 Grand Slams, nearly averaging two major titles a season for 12 years.
He has the ability, but can Carlos Alcaraz remain consistent over enough years to win 21 more Grand Slam titles?
