Yes, you read that right! Blue Jay's fan Liz McGuire was hit by a ball traveling at 110 miles/hour (177 km/h), according to The New York Times. Her tweet went viral with 15 million views.
According to ESPN, McGuire, who stayed until the end of the game, experienced massive swelling on her forehead bump, followed by a massive black eye.

The Blue Jays fan was sitting near the third baseline when Tampa Bay fouled and Bo Bichette's ball went over the safety net at Rogers Center.
As bad luck would have it, the ball was headed straight to McGuire's face while she was having a conversation with her friend. She didn't see the ball coming her way... Unable to react, she took the hit like a champ!
"I heard someone scream and then it hit me," she told The New York Times. Luckily, the club's medical team saw the incident and attended to her wounds. Nevertheless, she chose to stay in the stadium to finish watching the Blue Jays beat the Rays 4-3.
Little did Liz McGuire know she would go viral after the hit. 'Topps' decided to make a personalized card of her with the photo she shared on social media.

What's more, the company decided to launch a limited and personalized line of 110 cards, in honor of the speed at which the fan was hit. Master play from their marketing department. Those cards may be worth a lot of money in a few years!

On behalf of the Blue Jays, they invited Liz McGuire to the next game and the team has offered her a ball signed by Bo Bichette.
Nevertheless, for those concerned about the blow, Liz McGuire told The New York Times that she went to the emergency room right after the game, and had scans and checks to make sure everything was ok.
